Wet Area Technician Required

Position: Wet Area Technician

Role: Technical Support & Aid to Instruction for SNO, NMCIS & CIT Activities at the National Maritime College of Ireland.

Reporting to: Managing Director, SNO Ltd

Location: NMCI, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork

Opened in October 2004, the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI, the College) is a purpose built constituent college of the Cork Institute of Technology, established in a partnership with the Irish Naval Service (INS) and Focus Education Ltd.  Located on a ten acre site in Ringaskiddy with direct access to the harbour, the college houses state of the art facilities and equipment including two full mission simulators, jetty, fire fighting and survival training facilities, library, IT and other laboratories. The NMCI caters for the education and training needs of the merchant navy and the non-military training requirements of the Naval Service and provides a broad range of training services for the maritime industry.

SEFtec NMCI Offshore Training Ltd

SEFtec NMCI Offshore Training Ltd (SNO) is a Joint Venture Company between the National Maritime College of Ireland and SEFtec Global Training Ireland Ltd (SGT). SNO Ltd combines the offshore training expertise of SGT with the world class maritime training facilities at the NMCI in pursuit of standards & accreditation for courses to the offshore industry.

NMCI Services

NMCIS is the commercial division of the National Maritime College of Ireland. Its primary function is to promote and support all commercial activities of the college. As a cross partner department, NMCIS draws upon the resources of CIT, the INS and VLL to support its activities.

Description of the Position

Reporting to the Managing Director of SNO Ltd, the successful candidate will be a member of the NMCI Services Commercial Team, and will support equally the wet area requirements of both the academic and commercial divisions of the NMCI. This will include scheduled & bespoke course offerings in the areas of seamanship, small boat handling, sea survival and related activities.
