Maritime Open Day proves huge success at NMCI

We had our annual Maritime Open Day on the 3rd of November 2010 which is a great opportunity for prospective students to have a look at the wonderful maritime facilities we have on offer at the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI).

This year’s event was a massive success with over 400 students and parents from all over Ireland getting the chance to see our world class facilities. The students were literally blown away with our demonstration on sea survival in our 20m x 8m indoor pool. read more…

Get OPITO registered with our MIST and BOSIET

NMCI Services - MISTThis week’s Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST) went very successfully with all our delegates passing the course and they are now proud recipients of our OPITO (Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organization) approved certificates.  OPITO standards are recognised in thirty countries and they are the safety standards in the offshore oil and gas industry.  Our MIST course is designed to give delegates the basic safety training knowledge required while working in the offshore industry.  After completion of the course all our delegates are fully equipped to handle Risk Assessment, Hazardous Offshore Environment and Platform Integrity.  Here at the National Maritime College of Ireland all of our off shore courses are OPITO approved. read more…

GAC LAUNCHES UNIQUE TRAINING INITIATIVE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NATIONAL MARITIME COLLEGE OF IRELAND

Training solutions to reduce physical, environmental and financial risk for seafarers and shore-based shipping personnel

GAC, the global provider of shipping, logistics and marine services today announced the launch of GAC Training & Service Solutions Limited (GTSS), a new initiative that will provide innovative and cost saving training solutions for the LNG and tanker markets, as well as other commodity and maritime sectors.
