Small Changes, Big Impact: Supporting Sustainability at NMCI Training Services

At NMCI Training Services, we are continually looking for ways to improve the experience of our learners while reducing our environmental impact. As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we are introducing two simple changes that will significantly reduce paper usage across our training operations.

Self Declaration of Fitness Forms Now Issued in Advance

Previously, learners attending training at NMCI Training Services completed their Self Declaration of Fitness form during registration on the morning of their course. From now on, these forms will be issued in advance of training, allowing participants to complete them before arriving on campus.

This change offers several benefits. It helps reduce paper consumption, streamlines the registration process, and allows participants to begin their training with less administration on the day.

How the new process works

Individual bookings

If you have booked your training directly with NMCI Training Services, your Self Declaration of Fitness form QR code will be emailed to you before your course. Please complete the form as instructed before attending.

Company bookings

For delegates whose training has been booked by their employer, the Self Declaration of Fitness form QR code will be sent to the company’s booking contact. It is the responsibility of the company contact to forward the form to each delegate so it can be completed before training begins.

If you are attending a course and have not received your Self Declaration of Fitness form in advance, please contact nmci.services@mtu.ie, and a member of our team will be happy to send it directly to you.

Digital Course Evaluations

We are also moving away from paper course evaluation forms.

At the conclusion of each course, learners will now be invited to scan a QR code using their mobile phone or tablet. This will take them to a short online evaluation form that can be completed in just a few minutes.

By replacing printed evaluation forms with a digital process, we can further reduce paper waste while making it quicker and easier for learners to provide valuable feedback.

Your Feedback Matters

Learner feedback plays an important role in helping us maintain the high standards of training that NMCI Training Services is known for.

Every evaluation helps us understand what we are doing well and where we can continue to improve. Whether it is recognising excellent instruction, identifying opportunities to enhance the delegate experience, or refining our courses, your feedback enables us to continually develop and deliver the highest quality maritime training.

We encourage every course participant to take a few moments to complete the online evaluation at the end of their course. Your comments are greatly appreciated and directly contribute to the ongoing improvement of our training programmes.
