Tawazun Safety Security and Disaster Management City signs agreements with global training organizations

Abu Dhabi, November 20 2012:

Tawazun Safety Security and Disaster Management City (TSSDMC), a Tawazun Holding subsidiary offering multi-agency training for emergency preparedness and crisis management, has signed agreements with two international training providers.

The first agreement was signed with the Canada-based Ontario Fire Academy (OFA) which will see TSSDMC’s UAE-based Oil & Gas clients taught the skills required to be qualified Level 1 and 2 Fire Fighters. TSSDMC will work with the OFA to design, develop, and deliver short courses and programs as per the internationally-recognized standards of the US National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

The second agreement was signed with a Dutch firm, Competency Management Group (CMG), who together with their educational partner the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI), will develop curriculum and deliver training that comply with international standards. The training will be provided to TSSDMC’s clients such as the UAE Armed Forces, UAE Navy, Coastguard as well as companies from the Oil &Gas and other sectors.

By doing this, we hope to further

strengthen the UAE’s capability to mitigate the impact of natural disaster or man-made crisis and maintain overall business continuity.

“We are confident that with these new agreements with the Ontario Fire Academy and Competency Management Group, we can help prepare UAE industries and communities to effectively respond to emergencies, decrease the number of fatalities and reduce damage to infrastructure and property,” he added.

simulation.”
