Reporting to: The Operations Manager.

Principal Tasks.

  • Deliver Firefighting training.
  • To undertake instructional duties on assigned classes as deemed appropriate by management in both lecture and practical sessions, both at the NMCI and other locations as the management may from time to time reasonably require (e.g. at client’s premises).
  • To ensure existing courses are reviewed & updated as necessary and assist in the development of new courses to meet client’s needs.
  • To ensure that safety standards for both staff and learners are always adhered to.
  • Maintaining appropriate records and making available information as required by management.
  • Participating in the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality assurance.
  • To liaise with support staff responsible for the delivery of training courses or exercises.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure consistent standards of training are maintained
  • To comply with the procedures, staff notices, and any other communications as issued by management.
  • To attend staff development training courses, in-house and external, as determined by line management.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Operational experience in the Fire Service, or related sector.
  • BA Instructors Course.
  • Fire Fighting background.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Clean full driving licence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

They are currently looking for a Marine & Terminal Operations Supervisor to join their team at Dublin Port.

The Marine & Terminal Operations Supervisor will provide their Marine & Terminal Services (MATS) clients with first class service in the provision of Jetty & Terminal Operators, Surveying and Shipping Supervision functions. The aim is to ensure the smooth service to the vessels & terminals they serve in order that they do not delay a vessel.

Additionally, the Supervisor forms a key part of the company providing an essential link between the vessel, terminal facility and the MATS team to ensure required information, arrangements, requests and any issues are clearly communicated between the stakeholders. The aim is 100% customer satisfaction therefore the role of MTOS is vital to retaining clients and directly linked to income.

 

Areas of Responsibility

  • To ensure adequate staffing is in place to cover all jetty, terminal, survey and shipping supervisor requirements.
  • To ensure employees are provided with the necessary equipment to conduct tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • To liaise with all stakeholders to reduce any delays to customers.
  • To keep customers advised on prospects for their vessels.
  • To ensure a high level of staff utilisation is achieved.
  • To track and monitor agreed contractual KPI’s with our customers.
  • To assist in the production of procedures and risk assessments which should be reviewed regularly and in line with company policy.
  • To perform audits and competency checks on staff to ensure compliance by the team as directed by the Ops Manager.
  • To store and maintain all training, QHSSE and procedural documents.
  • To lead by example and set the standards required by colleagues.
  • To take an active part in customer review meetings and ensure any KPI targets are met.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • IOSH Managing Safely Desirable however training will be provided.
  • Bachelor Degree qualified preferred.
  • Shipping or Logistics background desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of working in the Oil and gas industry desirable.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in staff management role.
  • High levels of people management skills.
  • Good computing skills, MS Office.
  • Full driving license, good communication and organizing skills.

Reporting to:  Operations Manager

The Trainee Instructor/Technician will undergo a 24-month intensive programme achieving recognised instructor qualifications and on the job experience.

 

The duties will involve, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Ensure that safety standards for both staff and delegates are always adhered to.
  • Provide support for Commercial courses / courses to the Offshore Oil and Gas sectors/ Maritime sector.
  • Complete various Instructor Courses which will provide the foundation for an instructor and meet the demands of the company going forward.
  • Comply with the procedures, staff notices, communications as issued by management & any other duties deemed relevant by management.
  • Work alongside the technicians and instructors at the Centre.
  • Achieve competency in Sea Survival Equipment Maintenance and safe operation of equipment.
  • Obtain the competencies required to teach or assess, as per the standards laid down in OPITO guidelines and other accrediting bodies.
  • Attend classes as deemed appropriate by management in both lecture and practical sessions, both at the Centre and other locations as required (e.g., offshore, at client’s premises).
  • Support the delivery of courses to the Maritime, Renewable and Offshore Oil and Gas sectors.
  • Ensure that all courses are provided with the equipment and facilities as laid down in the course programme.

 

Requirements

 

Essential:

  • Ability to work in a dynamic multidiscipline environment.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.
  • Water Confident.
  • Full clean driving license.

 

Desirable:

  • Good IT skills.

The administrator’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following;

  • Receive inbound calls and emails from current and new customers/companies.
  • Responsible for the administration process from booking through to certification and registration into the OPITO Vantage system and CMS.
  • Responsible for classroom/facility bookings for scheduled and bespoke course bookings.
  • Completion and participation within internal audits on main scheme and commercial courses.
  • Responsible for travel templates and organising client accommodation & transfers ahead of courses or board meetings.
  • Preparing administration files for instructors before beginning course.
  • Put together and deliver course packs where appropriate.
  • Prepare scripts/handouts for courses.
  • Ensure all relevant communications, records and data are updated and recorded.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and updates.
  • Create trust and confidence when building a rapport with customers to effectively close each booking and retain customer loyalty, this includes reception duties for course registration.
  • Meet & greet delegates at reception before each course.
  • Represent commercial division by ensuring each customer receives a friendly and engaging and efficient experience;
  • Compile reports as and when required by the Management Team;
  • Work as part of a team supporting colleagues where necessary;
  • Report any non-conformances to Management immediately in order to ensure that corrective action is carried out to prevent recurrence and insure continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to strict data protection and confidentiality laws;
  • Participate in any required training.
  • Liaising with both the GTSS Marketing Executive & the Office Manager to support the planning of all commercial courses
  • Liaising with Lecturers, instructors to co-ordinate the efficient running of courses.
  • Liaising with Finance regarding pricing of courses.
  • Liaising with various individuals from companies on course details, numbers, requests etc.
  • Liaising with catering staff & process canteen function forms.
  • Be responsible for the replenishment of stationary at the NMCIS Ops office and postal duties.
  • Fill out purchase requisitions where appropriate & required.
  • Completion of CETB forms and liaising with CETB officers as required.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned.

 

Requirements

 

Essential:

  • 3 years relevant administrative experience;
  • Good planning, organisational and communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills;
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to ask probing questions, understand concerns, and overcome objections;
  • Strong work ethic and self-starter, able to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment;
  • Must possess a professional and friendly attitude and be able to quickly develop a rapport with customers over the phone;
  • Ability to learn and navigate new software quickly.

 

Salary: €20,000- €24,000 depending on experience.
